Endowment

Carlsbad Educational Foundation, through the Kids Are Worth A Million™ program, is able to underwrite specific needs on a year-to-year basis, but certainly not all needs. The Endowment Fund will provide funds for additional near term programs as well as provide for long-range continuity, reliability and stability in funding.

The entities providing the seed money for the Endowment Fund were Carlsbad Educational Foundation, through the Kids Are Worth A Million™ program, and the Klein Family Foundation. The Endowment Fund is overseen and managed by the Endowment Committee, which is a sub-committee of the Finance Committee of the Carlsbad Educational Foundation.

Additional donations are being sought to secure the vesting of the endowment to make it permanent. There are many methods to give to the Endowment including outright gifts, bequests, life insurance, revocable and irrevocable trusts and retirement funds. Gifts may result in tax savings to the donor. However, the Endowment Committee and the Carlsbad Educational Foundation cannot provide specific tax advice on the gifts. Donors are encouraged to seek the advice of competent tax professionals.
